Broward judges earn awards for their benevolent work

by katem

Two Broward County judges have received honors for their exceptional service from the bench.

Judge Ginger Lerner-Wren received the United Way’s Community Champion of Mental Health Award for her pioneering work advancing mental health and justice reform in the 17th Judicial Circuit’s court system.

Judge Lauren Alperstein, meanwhile, accepted the 2025 Tzedek Award from the Jewish Bar Association in recognition of her commitment to justice and fairness. Broward Commissioner Nan Rich declared May 29 “Judge Lauren Alperstein Appreciation Day.”

The awards were welcome news for the court, which recently attracted negative headlines after multiple judges fell under scrutiny for misconduct.
