Winner: Jeanette Nuñez
The Florida International University Board of Trustees has voted unanimously to select Nuñez as its next permanent President.
That would allow her to drop the “interim” title she’s held since February, as long as the State University System Board of Governors approves the move, as expected.
Loser: Jose Regalado
Despite more than doubling up Ralph Rosado in fundraising leading up to Tuesday’s Special Election, Regalado couldn’t pull out the win.
Rosado secured around 55% of the vote to succeed the late former Commissioner Manolo Reyes. That’s despite being outraised by Regalado $191,000 to $79,500 in the race.
