5 Fort Lauderdale transportation infrastructure projects to get state funding

by The 100 Companies

Budget talks in Tallahassee proved fruitful for five road, bridge and sidewalk projects in Fort Lauderdale. All got an earmark in the state’s next spending plan.

$1 million for pedestrian safety enhancements along Las Olas Boulevard.

$750,000 for citywide street resurfacing.

$750,000 for repair and reconstruction of 2.2 miles of damaged sidewalks. The city is matching the state funds 100%.

$500,000 for numerous upgrades along Galt Ocean Drive.

$500,000 to replace a bridge on Southeast 13th Street.

Sens. Rosalind Osgood and Jason Pizzo, and Reps. Daryl Campbell, Chip LaMarca and Mitch Rosenwald, sought the funding this year in appropriation requests.
