A multimillion-dollar expansion of the Bay of Pigs Museum and Library in Miami’s Little Havana neighborhood is on track to receive another $1 million from the state.
The Senate and House agreed to allocate the funds, which Doral Sen. Ana Maria Rodriguez and Hialeah Rep. Alex Rizo sought in appropriation requests.
The money will go toward establishing a “modern, secure facility dedicated to preserving and protecting the legacy of the brave men of Brigade 2506 and safeguarding the invaluable artifacts of the Bay of Pigs invasion,” Rodriguez’s request said.
Lawmakers set aside $1 million for the project last year, too.
