Winner: Mike Redondo
Congratulations to the future Speaker. Redondo was chosen by his fellow class members to lead the House following the 2030 election.
That’s assuming Redondo keeps his seat and Republicans maintain control of the House – fair bets given the recent reddening of Florida and Miami-Dade.
Loser: Vetoed projects
Gov. Ron DeSantis signed the budget Monday, and with it came the Governor vetoing multiple projects throughout the state and region.
Gone is $5.7 million for the College of the Florida Keys, $1.3 million for a Homestead nonprofit serving individuals with disabilities and $300,000 for air conditioning at Miami-Dade prisons.
