On the strength of an eight-game winning streak, the Miami Marlins are threatening to become relevant in the playoff chase.
The Marlins won their eighth straight with a 2-0 win over the Minnesota Twins. While Miami is not in the midst of the wild card chase yet, their turn of form has made things interesting as the All-Star break approaches.
The Marlins’ longest winning streak in franchise history is nine games. Over a longer stretch, their ability to win close games has turned them from a last-place team into a potential for a wild card spot.
Their record is 38-45.
