A government efficiency probe created by Gov. Ron DeSantis and led by Chief Financial Officer Blaise Ingoglia has launched audits of county spending in Broward, Miami-Dade and Palm Beach.
Florida DOGE, modeled after the federal initiative, is reviewing contracts, salaries, green-energy spending, diversity programs and budget gaps, including Broward’s $1.2 billion budget growth amid minimal population increases.
Miami-Dade faces scrutiny for having a $402 million budget deficit despite surging tax revenues, while Palm Beach is complying with detailed data requests from the state.
Florida DOGE’s task force has the authority to fine noncompliant governments $1,000 daily for each unmet request.
