Two-plus years after renaming its legal academy after renowned civil rights lawyer Benjamin Crump, St. Thomas University (STU) has returned to its original title and is creating a justice-focused institute named after him.
Crump and STU confirmed they mutually decided to again call the law school the St. Thomas University College of Law.
This Fall, STU is launching the Benjamin L. Crump Institute for Environmental and Societal Law to “serve as a hub for scholarship, advocacy and community engagement, (with a) focus on advancing civil rights and safeguarding our shared environment.”
STU renamed its law college after Crump in February 2023.
