President Donald Trump will reshape South Florida’s powerful federal bench after U.S. District Judge Robin Rosenberg stepped down last month to lead the Federal Judicial Center in Washington.
Her resignation leaves a vacancy at the Federal Building in West Palm Beach, one of the busiest courthouses in the Southern District. The move came as Judge Kenneth Marra, who took senior status in 2017 and whose seat Trump filled with Judge Aileen Cannon in 2020, prepares for full retirement.
Trump’s replacement choice will tilt the court’s balance conservatively, with nine Judges picked by Republican Presidents compared to eight by Democrats.
