Longtime lobbyist Maria Zack won a Special Republican Primary for House District 90, earning 53% of the vote Tuesday to defeat businessman Bill Reicherter.
Unofficial results showed Zack, a seasoned political operative with a penchant for conspiracy theories, securing the low-turnout contest, where 8.6% of the district’s 31,208 voters cast ballots.
She now advances to the Dec. 9 General Election to face Democratic Delray Beach Commissioner Rob Long and no-party candidate Karen Yeh.
The coastal Palm Beach County seat opened after the July death of Rep. Joe Casello.
HD 90 leans Democratic and runs from Delray Beach to Boynton Beach.
