The Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau (GMCVB) is officially backing Fontainebleau Miami Beach’s proposed pool deck renovation ahead of the city’s Feb. 10 historic preservation review.
GMCVB CEO David Whitaker said the project, which includes a family-friendly water park with 11 slides, is vital for keeping the city globally competitive.
Fontainebleau Development maintained the “thoughtful evolution” will repurpose outdoor space without compromising the landmark’s architectural integrity.
The GMCVB endorsement follows support from the Greater Miami and the Beaches Hotel Association, which recently urged Miami Beach officials to approve the plan as an essential reinvestment in the local tourism ecosystem.
