Good news to all ornithologists, birdwatchers and bird lovers – the National Audubon Society and nine partner organizations recently launched the Bird Migration Explorer. It’s a state-of-the-art digital platform that allows users to access migration data on 458 species of birds in the United States and Canada.
The Bird Migration Explorer uses three types of geospatial data that are consolidated by the Audubon scientists and cartographers to create animated and interactive visualizations to bring species migration to life on a map.
It’s free, interactive and available in English and Spanish.
What exciting things has the Explorer revealed? Find out for yourself.
