GOP candidate Emilio González and Democrat Eileen Higgins each notched partisan endorsements recently in their bids to become the next Miami Mayor.
González, a past City Manager and federal immigration services chief, added a nod from the Miami Young Republicans, which called him a “fearless leader” who will block “destructive socialist policies pushed by progressive candidates.”
Higgins, a Miami-Dade County Commissioner, gained support from EMILY’s List, a national abortion rights group that called her “a results-driven leader” who will “continue her great work at City Hall.”
González and Higgins are among 11 candidates running to succeed Republican Mayor Francis Suarez.
