Republican Lake Clarke Shores Council member Jon Maples’ bid to represent House District 87 in Palm Beach County now carries support from Palm Beach Gardens Rep. Meg Weinberger.
Weinberger, nicknamed “MAGA Meg” for the support she has received from President Donald Trump and politicos aligned with him, said she’s backing Maples.
“He’s the ally I need to help fight for President Trump’s agenda,” she said.
Maples hopes to succeed Rep. Mike Caruso, who was appointed Palm Beach Clerk last month.
Other Republicans running include Caruso’s wife, Tracy, and real estate agent Gretchen Feng. Democrats Emily Gregory and Laura Levites also filed.
