‘Tails and Tales’ initiative brings together book lovers and cats

by carlislewillard

There are cats looking for snuggles along with books and movies to peruse. All a joint initiative between Broward County Animal Care and Broward County Libraries needs is some laps to make it happen.

The “Tails and Tales” program invites readers to Animal Care’s Cat Mall. Four rooms have free-roaming cats. Posters on the wall have QR codes for patrons to get instant access to thousands of digital books, magazines and movies.

Come, sit and snuggle from 11 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday at 2400 42nd  St. in Fort Lauderdale.

Organizers see a way to boost adoptions and reduce cat shelter stress.
