Unemployment in Greater Miami – comprising Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties – was close to 3.6% in July, according to FloridaCommerce. That’s the highest it’s been since January 2022.
It was also 0.2 percentage points above the state unemployment average of 3.3%, which has held steady for months. Since May, unemployment in Greater Miami grew by nearly a percentage point, though it remains 0.8 points below the national rate.
Miami-Dade’s unemployment rate was 3.3%, more than double what it was in November. The rate was 3.6% in Broward and 3.8% in Palm Beach, both half a point higher than a year ago.
