Max Verstappen led almost wire-to-wire in winning the inaugural Miami Grand Prix, but the city scored an even bigger win.
The Formula 1 event brought an estimated 300,000 fans and executives to Miami for a non-stop party that rivaled lifestyles of the rich and famous.
Some hotels charged more than $100,000 a night for their top suites. Specialty chefs offered dinners for $3,000 a plate. Chic nightclubs charged up to $100,000 for a table.
“It was an incredible atmosphere, and it was really incredibly well organized. It was really nice to see that,” Verstappen said. “They did an amazing job.”
