Rookie Miami Heat forward Jaime Jaquez Jr. delivered a flashy performance during the NBA All-Star Weekend, securing a spot in the Rising Stars game and competing in the Slam Dunk Contest.
Jaquez was eliminated from the dunk competition. But both his buckets were memorable.
In the first, he leapt over 7-foot-1 Shaquille O’Neal, clearing the former Heat center for a mighty dunk.
He donned an “El Heat Cultura” jersey in the second to honor his Latino roots, pounding in a 180-degree dish as the names of the five Mexican NBA players who preceded him appeared on the LED glass court.
