He previously served prison time for 11 felonies involving drug trafficking and resisting arrest. Two years ago, he was apprehended for unlawfully voting in two 2022 Special Elections.

This month, 58-year-old Jamaican citizen Alford Nelson – an “illegal alien,” according to state law enforcement officials – was sentenced to just one day behind bars, plus $1,268 in fees, for his election crimes.

Authorities say Nelson used a counterfeit New York birth certificate to register to vote under a false name in Broward.

He faced up to five years in prison and a $5,000 fine.

Attorney General Ashley Moody’s Office prosecuted the case.
