Winner: Natalie Milian Orbis
Milian Orbis is the newest member of the Miami-Dade County Commission after members selected her to succeed Kevin Marino Cabrera. Milian Orbis now has 18 months in that seat before running as a quasi-incumbent in 2026 for a full term.
Loser: Daniella Levine Cava
Miami-Dade Commission members overrode the Mayor’s veto regarding water fluoridation, rejecting the Mayor’s desire to continue the practice. But consider this a temporary loss.
The county’s hands were largely tied by a new law, and Levine Cava, if she runs for Governor, can still position herself as a fighter on this issue.
