by Margaret Willard

The Miami Herald reported on a study that showed NFL head coaching jobs were three times more likely to go to whites than people of color.

Alexis Piquero, chair of the sociology department at the University of Miami, concluded that after studying all NFL head coach interviewees since 2015.

In a lawsuit, former Dolphins coach Brian Flores said his interview with the New York Giants was a sham to satisfy the requirement, called the Rooney Requirement that teams interview at least two minority candidates for a head-coaching job.

Flores claimed the Giants had already hired Brian Daboll but hadn’t announced it.
