Taxiing collision delays takeoff by days

You think your travel nightmare was bad? Passengers on a Norse Atlantic Airways flight scheduled to leave Friday night for a trip to Oslo hadn’t taken off as of Monday morning, the Sun Sentinel reported.

The plane was taxiing to takeoff Friday when its wing tip hit construction equipment on the field. An investigation is on into what equipment it was and why it was there, airport officials said.

The airline, dubbed the “Spirit of Europe” for its low-cost, no-frills flights, started nonstop Fort Lauderdale service to Norway last June, but plans to relocate its operations to Miami next month.
