After four straight seasons of being on the league’s second-tier roster of guarders, blockers and stealers, Miami Heat center Bam Adebayo has been named to the NBA’s All-Defensive First Team.
He joins LeBron James and Alonzo Mourning as the only three players to win an All-Defensive First Team nod while playing for the Heat. But as the Miami Herald noted, Adebayo is the only player in Heat history to make one of the league’s All-Defensive teams in five different seasons while playing for the franchise.
Adebayo said on a press call, “I feel like this is a long time coming.”
