Marlins’ bats were hot in the series opener against the Los Angeles Dodgers – they won 11-3 – but then landed in the cooling tank for Saturday’s doubleheader which both ended with 3-1 losses.
So, with 37 games left to play, fans will have to keep biting their nails over whether the Marlins are going to the postseason.
Miami’s record of 64-61 puts them tied with the Arizona Diamondbacks and a half-game behind the Chicago Cubs and Cincinnati Reds for the national final wild card spot, according to the Miami Herald.
Six teams are in the running for three wild card spots.
