Sitting on the far western border of Panama City Beach, Camp Helen State Park is an ecological gem. From pristine beaches to scenic nature trails that reveal a rare coastal dune lake, the Florida park is truly unique.
Surrounded by water on three sides, the park features five distinct natural communities – mesic flatwoods, scrub oak, basin swamp, depression marsh and marine unconsolidated substrate – that you can explore in just a short walk.
Though there is no camping allowed, visitors enjoy fishing, boating, kayaking, grilling and swimming. History tours are available the first Saturday of each month at 10 a.m.
