Public Safety Chief James Reyes and Florida Highway Patrol Trooper Joe Sanchez led their respective Democratic and Republican Primary opponents in fundraising last quarter for Miami-Dade Sheriff.
But a nod from former President Donald Trump went to another candidate.
Reyes led 16 others from both sides of the aisle with almost $378,000 in gains. Sanchez placed second, ahead of all GOP hopefuls, with $212,500 in the bag.
But it was third-place fundraiser Rosie Cordero-Stutz, an Assistant Miami-Dade Police Director, who received a “Complete and Total Endorsement” from Trump on Truth Social.
Her campaign for Sheriff also raised $106,000 last quarter.
