Public Safety Chief James Reyes and Assistant Police Director Rosie Cordero-Stutz are competing head-to-head for Miami-Dade Sheriff after winning their Primaries.
Reyes scored 46% of the vote in a four-way Democratic contest. Cordero-Stutz beat 11 fellow Republicans with a 24% vote share.
Both have since received endorsements from former GOP Sheriff candidates.
Cordero-Stutz nabbed nods from former Primary foes Joe Sanchez, Mario Knapp and Ernie Rodriguez, while Reyes was endorsed by fifth-place Republican Primary finisher Jose Aragu.
Aragu’s campaign received $300,000 last month from billionaire Ken Griffin, who also gave to Reyes’ current boss, Democratic Miami-Dade Mayor Daniella Levine Cava.
