South Florida’s Winner and Loser of the Week

Winner: Ana Maria Rodriguez

Rodriguez is earning the “2023 Legislative Champion Award” distinction from the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce. Representatives are in Tallahassee Tuesday to bestow the award, as well as push for measures on transportation, workforce housing and workforce development and resiliency.

Loser: Rodney Mayo

Mayo is out as a candidate for West Palm Beach Mayor after a judge ruled Mayo does not reside in the city. That left Mayor Keith James as the only listed candidate, and the winner by default. Mayo is attempting a last ditch effort to recall James instead, but that’s a long shot.
