Mere days before he was to return to Miami-Dade government as the county’s new Chief Resilience Officer, Curtis Osceola was arrested after an alleged domestic violence incident.
The 35-year-old lawyer was booked for battery and nonviolently resisting arrest. He was released the following morning.
Osceola’s arrest report said his girlfriend called 911 during an argument over his pending divorce. She accused Osceola of slapping her.
An officer responding to the scene noted “various signs of disturbance” at the couple’s apartment, including broken glass.
Mayor Daniella Levine Cava said Osceola’s situation was “under review” and his starting date would “be delayed.”
