Report: South Florida billionaires not so bullish on Ron DeSantis’ presidential bid

by The 100 Companies

Reports are that some of the South Florida billionaires supporting Gov. Ron DeSantis’ presidential ambitions are having second thoughts.

The Financial Times reports Nelson Peltz, Palm Beach hedge fund manager, finds the Governor’s stance on abortion “too extreme.” DeSantis supports banning abortion before most women discover their pregnancy.

Meanwhile, Ken Griffin of Miami, another hedge fund manager, donated $5 million to DeSantis’ campaign. But now he’s cooling to sending more Benjamins, according to the same report.

Griffin reportedly has concerns about DeSantis’ views on Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and also DeSantis’ ongoing fight with Disney World about gender identity legislation.
