Winner: Tom Valeo

West Palm Beach Mayor Keith James selected Valeo to be his new Chief of Staff. Valeo formerly worked as a legislative aide to Sen. Lori Berman and former Rep. Matt Willhite. Valeo is returning to government work after a stint at Cornerstone Solutions, a West Palm Beach public relations firm.

Loser: Broward School Board

Members of the embattled Board made another misstep after discussing an audit of a software contract at a closed-door meeting. The district’s spokesperson later admitted the meeting, which was followed by a public meeting terminating that contract, should have taken place in public.
