The temperature is setting records and the Miami Marlins seem to be wilting at midseason (although they did snap an eight-game losing streak Sunday), so ice hockey news might be refreshing.
The Florida Panthers agreed to terms on a three-year extension with Eetu Luostarinen – one of their underrated core players – who had a breakout 2022-23 season as the team hit the NHL Finals, according to the Miami Herald.
The extension, a deal worth $3 million annually, begins with the 2024-25 season, putting the 24-year-old forward under contract through the 2026-27 season. That’s potentially doubling his salary after this year ends.
