Winner: Broward teachers

A tentative agreement between the Broward Teachers Union and the county would net teachers an average raise of nearly 4%. The precise raise will depend on the teacher’s rating, with highly effective educators in line for a 4.56% increase. The School Board and teachers must still ratify the agreement.

Loser: Victoria Méndez

Miami’s City Attorney is facing a Bar investigation and a civil lawsuit over her alleged ties to a house-flipping scheme that targeted vulnerable residents. Adding insult to injury, a judge in that civil case was forced to punish Méndez during a hearing, muting her mic.
