How do you distinguish yourself from 16 others running to be Miami-Dade’s first Sheriff since 1966?
According to Jeffrey Giordano, the race’s latest entrant, you lampoon them in a skit evoking a “Tonight Show” character from that decade, Carnac the Magnificent.
And you challenge them to a few rounds of punch-face.
In a YouTube video this week, Giordano – a retired cop-turned-private investigator – donned a turban and cape while lobbing insulting nicknames at his opponent. His onscreen persona: “Gino the Magnificent.”
He also said he’s invited every candidate to participate in a charity boxing tournament benefitting the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
