Port Everglades rebranded to distinguish itself from the swamp

by carlislewillard

Broward County is spearing away any idea that getting off a cruise at Port Everglades puts one in the area’s most famous swamp, the Everglades.

The Fort Lauderdale port that’s No. 3 in the world for cruise traffic has a new logo featuring a trident, the weapon of choice for mythological god of the ocean Poseidon or Neptune. It’s designed to represent three core values of the port: Strength, resilience, and sustainability.

Mayor Lamar Fisher said he likes the brand that debuted with a video: “The new branding logo brings an identity to our Port,” he wrote in a text.
