Gumbo Limbo Nature Center has started thrice-weekly beach walks in search of nesting sea turtles.
Every week on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays – until July 6 – the city-owned oceanside educational center is hosting these walks for those interested in learning more about these ancient, endangered and threatened reptiles coming ashore to lay eggs.
Guests are encouraged to make reservations through the city and come to the center – 1801 N Ocean Blvd. – from 8:45 p.m. to midnight on the appointed days.
The $15 admission price isn’t refunded if no turtles are spotted on the appointed night because of the turtles’ unpredictability.
