Tom Carney, a Republican former Commissioner and one-time Delray Beach Mayor, is back as the city’s top elected official.
He replaces Mayor Shelly Petrolia, a Democrat, who supported his campaign.
Former Commissioner Juli Casale is also back on the five-seat panel after losing in an upset last year. And first-time candidate Tom Markert edged two opponents to replace Commissioner Adam Frankel, who is running for Palm Beach Public Defender.
Each won three-year terms.
Just under 59% of voters also shot down a ballot measure that would have eliminated Delray Beach’s Board of Adjustment, which handles zoning appeals and variance decisions.
