Three elected posts were up for grabs in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, and every one of them went to candidates backed by outgoing Mayor Chris Vincent and the Broward County GOP.

Edmund Malkoon, the small town’s Vice Mayor, won a close three-person race for the mayoralty with 40% of the vote.

For Seat 2 on the five-member Town Commission, longtime civic leader John Graziano defeated one opponent with 58% of the vote. Former Broward GOP Chair and current Broward State Committee member Richard DeNapoli scored 61% of the vote to serve in Seat 4.

He replaces Commissioner Buz Oldaker, who unsuccessfully ran for Mayor.
