Marlins rookie pitcher burning up the record books

by The 100 Companies

The Miami Marlins keep giving fans a reason to rejoice.

Sunday, not only did the Miami team win 2-0 over the Pittsburgh Pirates coming out of a four-game series 3-1, the pitcher on the mound continued to astound. Eury Pérez struck out nine players in six innings.

The rookie extended his scoreless string to 21 innings. No wonder the Miami Herald calls him a “wunderkind.” He’s allowed just one earned run over 33 innings, the Herald reports.

He is the youngest pitcher since at least 1901 to pitch six shutout innings over three consecutive starts, the Herald’s Jordan McPherson wrote.
