GOP operative Alina García raises $135K toward Senate bid

by carlislewillard

Veteran Republican operative Alina García amassed $135,000 in January toward her Florida Senate bid, her campaign said.

She also collected an endorsement from U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio, whom she worked for in the Florida House.

García’s work history includes stints in the offices of former U.S. Rep. David Rivera, Florida CFO Jimmy Patronis, former Miami-Dade County Commissioner Esteban “Steve” Bovo, Miami Commissioner Joe Carollo and former state Sen. Frank Artiles.

Her campaign said she’s in Senate District 40; however, the address she listed with the Division of Elections places her in remapped Senate District 36, per Senate-approved redistricting.
