For the first time in its history , the FAU Owls soared into the Sweet Sixteen of the NCAA Tournament Sunday as they defeated Farleigh Dickinson University, 78-70.
Next, the East Region’s ninth seeded men’s basketball team will play the No. 4 seed Tennessee in what is considered basketball’s most famous arena, Madison Square Garden on Thursday. It’s the Eastern Regional semifinals.
Owls fans had hearts in their throats for part of the game undoubtedly; the FDU Knights were ahead for seven minutes of the game. But then the Owls came charging back and never let go of the lead again.
