A defense attorney has filed to run for State Attorney in the 15th Judicial Circuit – the position now occupied by Dave Aronberg, who has been re-elected without opposition twice since his first election in 2012.
Gregg Lerman of West Palm Beach said he doesn’t expect that Aronberg will file for re-election and his 38 years representing the accused uniquely qualifies him for the post.
“As a defense attorney, I deal with every aspect of the State Attorney’s office,” said Lerman, who filed as a Democrat.
A spokesman for Aronberg said the former state Senator is not ready to discuss his plans.
