The Broward County School Board is set to finalize its choice of Peter Licata as its new schools Superintendent on July 11.
The former regional Superintendent for Palm Beach County Schools had been set to have his three-year contract of a $360,000 yearly salary finalized on June 29, but alas, a School Board quorum did not materialize.
Three board members were out of the country at meeting time, attending via phone, but the unexpected absence of three others made it a no-go, the Sun Sentinel reports. State law requires at least five members to be physically present to conduct district business.
