Not only did torrential rain fail to dampen the introduction of soccer superstar Lionel Messi to Miami crowds Sunday night, Inter Miami part-owner Jorge Mas proclaimed it “holy water,” according to the Miami Herald.
The Argentinian soccer superstar made his first appearance at the DRV PNK Stadium in Fort Lauderdale to wild cheers, video tributes and fireworks.
The player, known as the GOAT (greatest of all time) of GOATs is expected to play on the field Friday night when Inter Miami hosts Mexico’s Cruz Azul in a Leagues Cup match. He’ll be wearing a pink jersey “10” for two years.
