Hobe Sound lawyer Brennan Keeler, who since 2016 has served as legal counsel to the Palm Beach County Police Benevolent Association, is taking the bench.

Gov. Ron DeSantis appointed Keeler to a judgeship in the 19th Judicial Circuit, which covers Indian River, Martin, Okeechobee and St. Lucie counties.

He succeeds former Judge Robert Belanger, who retired in November after 19 years in robes.

Licensed to practice law in Florida since 2010, Keeler previously worked as an Assistant County Attorney for the Martin County Attorney’s Office. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Boston College and juris doctor from Florida State University.
