More bad news for Joe Carollo.
This week, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida ordered federal marshals to seize cash, goods and land belonging to the embattled Miami City Commissioner.
They’ll be used to satisfy a $63.5 million civil judgment in June, when Broward jurors found Carollo violated the First Amendment rights of two businessmen.
Jurors agreed Carollo targeted their Ball & Chain nightclub for years with city resources, police and code enforcers as retaliation for their support of his political opponent.
In November, a court ordered Miami to garnish Carollo’s wages to help cover damages.
