The post-season purge is on for the Miami Dolphins. And it appears the defensive staff is taking a lot of the fire.
Defensive coordinator Josh Boyer got the sack on Thursday, the Sun Sentinel reports.
The firing will give head coach Mike McDaniel his first chance to fill that position as he heads into his second season leading the Dolphins with the hope of improving its ranking as 18th in defense.
Other members of the defensive staff that were permanently benched from the team are safeties coach Steve Gregory, outside linebackers coach Ty McKenzie and assistant linebackers coach Steve Ferentz.
