Miami Shores elects 3 new Village Council members

by The 100 Companies

Real estate investor and retired veterinarian George Burch, local restaurateur Jesse Valinsky and TV editor Jerome Charles are headed for the Miami Shores Council.

Village voters chose them from a field of seven candidates. Burch, who is married to outgoing Councilwoman Alice Burch, won the most votes and will likely become the new Mayor.

They’ll join current Mayor Sandra Harris and Vice Mayor Dan Marinberg, who both drew criticism for supporting the village’s new comprehensive plan. By the time the plan is up for a final vote, the new members – who opposed the plan while campaigning – will be in office.
