International games could bring big paydays for Dolphins in future

The NFL awarded Global Market rights to 21 teams, up from 18 last year. The Miami Dolphins control markets in Brazil, Spain (with the Chicago Bears) and the United Kingdom (with six other teams).

The NFL may hold a game in Spain or Brazil in the future. The Dolphins have reportedly expressed interest in serving as the “home” team for those games.

Playing in a large stadium, say the Maracanã in Brazil (78,838 capacity) or Camp Nou (99,354 capacity), would bring greater potential ticket revenue, not to mention increased sponsorship sales opportunities.

Expect Spain to be first if it happens.
