If opening night for the NBA Finals had the Miami Heat looking vastly outmatched against the Denver Nuggets Thursday, Sunday night dispelled any doubts that this would be a contest.
The Heat came back from being down as many as 15 points in the first half and tied the best-of-seven series with one game apiece. The score was 111-108.
Undrafted players may have saved the team’s championship dreams Sunday: Max Strus, Duncan Robinson and Gabe Vincent came through with a combined 47 points, with shooting guard Vincent leading the team with 23, the Miami Herald’s Greg Cote points out.
